The Venue
journey in the spirit, and share our gifts with each other, our neighbors, and the
world.
Established in 1957, BUCC is a progressive congregation at the corner of Fernwood
Rd. and Democracy Blvd.
We are a diverse and eclectic group of people at various
places on our spiritual journey. We come from a wide range of countries, experiences,
family structure, orientations, expressions, and background.
BUCC has been centered on justice from its inception. We’ve advocated, marched,
spoken, donated, and hosted events centered around social justice, civil rights, and
LGBTQ+ issues.
We are excited to host the Becoming Ourselves exhibit. We share the joy that is
expressed in these beautiful portraits.

The Glen Echo amusement park was the site of key anti-segregation protests and collaboration between Blacks and Jews to make a better America, providing a lesson on standing up to bigotry.
For more information on protests at Glen Echo, see https://dcist.com/story/18/06/29/glen-echo-park-segregation-protest/
